SHOWS ON THE RISE: Viewers Split Their Attention Across Multiple Genres During Busy TV Week

Netflix anthology series, "Love, Death & Robots" tops our report this week. Netflix

It was a big week for Netflix with releases of shows both old and new entering our “Shows on the Rise” report. The debuts of anthology series, Love, Death & Robots and British comedy, Turn Up Charlie on March 15th made quite an impression, as both programs rose to the top with rise ratios of 100%. Meanwhile, new seasons of hit reality reboot, Queer Eye and cult-comedy, Arrested Development also dropped this past Friday; putting the beloved shows back on fans’ radars at No. 4 and No. 6 respectively. Additionally, Ricky Gervais’ dramedy, After Life, held on for another week, dropping from No. 1 to No. 8.

Outside of streaming, international teen series made waves with the season premieres of France’s Red Band Club (No. 3) and Italy’s Skam (No. 7) which netted positions in the top 10, while, American Gods (No. 5) earned a slot after its return to Starz on March 10th following a nearly 2-year wait. Finally, the mid-season return of Empire (No. 9) had a modest rise and Disney Channel’s Star vs. the Forces of Evil rose to No. 10 after a double-episode Season 4 premiere.

With the arrival of the much-anticipated Pretty Little Liars spinoff, The Perfectionists and ABC's latest legal-drama, The Fix coming this week -- what will make our report next next Monday? Stay tuned.

DID YOU KNOW? TV Time users love every member of Queer Eye’s “Fab Five,” but two style experts in particular are tied for fan favorite. Jonathan Van Ness and Antoni Porowski hold the top positions, both having 27.8% of the split votes in TV Time.
