Top 15 TV Vampires

Not all vampires are bad! The CW

Spooky season is upon us and whether you lean more towards witches, werewolves, or zombies, one thing is certain: Vampires completely rule television.

It seems that so many shows nowadays have one (if not multiple) vampires in their ranks, with some series completely set around the blood-sucking creatures (though many of them are very nice and friendly — not evil and blood-thirsty at all!). If you don’t want to be a vampire on TV you at least want to be best friends with one, whatever good or bad consequences come with that.

Ahead of Halloween, we’ve rounded up the top vampires from the small screen, Did your favorite make the list? (Please note, the following list is the top vampire per series!)

15. Eiza Gonzalez "Santánico Pandemonium" From Dusk till Dawn: The Series

Maybe not the nicest vampire out there, considering that she worked for the Nine Lords and would lure people to their death.

14. Rupert Penry-Jones "Quinlan" The Strain

Quinlan is a rare vampire and human hybrid, also known as a dhampir.

13. Ty Olsson "Benny Lafitte" Supernatural

A vampire who helped both Sam and Dean escape from Hell a couple of times (thanks Benny!).

12. Danielle Rose Russel "Hope Mikaelson" Legacies

Hope is a one-of-a-kind vampire because she’s also part witch and werewolf, making her the first hybrid of all three.

11. Natasia Demetriou "Nadja" What We Do in the Shadows

Along with having the unique ability to transform into a swarm of rats (fun!), she’s also dating the reincarnation of her former lover who she accidentally killed.

10. David Boreanaz "Angel" Angel

After achieving fame as one of the most sadistic vampires in European history, Angel found himself cursed with a human soul (and our hearts, thanks to Buffy).

9. Olivia Olson "Marcelline" Adventure Time

Say hello to Marcelline the Vampire Queen, who doesn’t need to drink blood to survive, but rather eats the color red.

8. Lady Gaga "The Countess" American Horror Story Hotel

As the one-time owner of the Hotel Cortez, The Countess kidnaps children and turns them into vampires, too.

7. James Marsters "Spike" Buffy the Vampire Slayer

A famous and feared vampire, Spike is known among humans and demons for killing two different Slayers during his (un)life.

6. Alexander Skarsgard "Eric Northman" True Blood

A sexy vampire who is over 1,000 years old, he also owns the appropriately titled bar, Fangtasia.

5. Graham McTavish "Dracula" Castlevania

Based on the video game character of the same name, this Dracula is both a vampire and a magician.

4. Joseph Gilgun "Proinsias Cassidy" Preacher

A former Irish freedom fighter turned Irish vampire, Cassidy is known for burning himself in the sun to prove a point.

3. Alberto Rosende "Simon Lewis" Shadowhunters

Simon was turned into a vampire, but later became a Daylighter which means he can walk around in the sunlight without being harmed.

2. Joseph Morgan "Klaus Mikaelson" The Originals

The original Werewolf-Vampire Hybrid he’s got a huge family name to live up to.

1. Ian Somerhalder "Damon Salvatore" The Vampire Diaries

Though he started off a bad vampire, he later turned into a good vampire (and finally, a human) ...and completely won over our hearts in the process.

*The Top 15 TV Vampires is based on in-app character votes from 1/1/19-10/21-19.
