Netflix continues to conquer as we enter August with four original series maintaining top placement! Orange Is the New Black (No. 1) keeps the crown for a third week in a row with 4.92% of binge sessions while Spanish series, Money Heist (No. 2), remains in the runner-up position for yet another week. Meanwhile, fantasy favorite, Lucifer (No. 3) climbs its way back into the top 3; knocking summer blockbuster, Stranger Things, down to No. 4. Additionally, new entry, Cable Girls, arrives at No. 9 following its Season 4 release.
However, no matter how much content Netflix throws at us, thirty-minute comedies always persist! Sitcoms new and old such as Friends (No. 5), The Big Bang Theory (No. 8), and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (No. 10) never cease to be favorites amongst bingers.
DID YOU KNOW? Notice anything missing from our list? For the first time in our report history, binge report staple, Grey’s Anatomy, was knocked out of the top 10 last week. The Shondaland drama currently resides at No. 13.
Methodology: *The weekly Binge Report ranks shows with the most binge sessions. A binge session is when four or more episodes of a show are watched and tracked in our TV Time app within a given day.
Note: The network displayed is the network where the show first aired (e.g. “Friends” on NBC).
