BINGE REPORT: “Stranger Things” Stays At No. 1

Bingers can't get enough of "Stranger Things." Netflix

“One summer can change everything.” Stranger Things’ Season 3 tagline proves to be true with record-breaking Netflix streams, and a July Binge Report take over! The beloved series holds the No. 1 position for a second week in a row with a whopping 14.53% of binge sessions. Other Netflix originals remain constant forces in the top 10 as Lucifer (No. 2) stays strong in second place two months after its Season 4 release, and German series, Dark, takes a hit but finds stable placement at No. 5.

Meanwhile, dark dramas carry into network television as post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, The 100, maintains its No. 7 position as moody teen drama, Riverdale (No. 10), rejoins the leaderboard. Nevertheless, comedy favorites like Friends (No. 3), The Big Bang Theory (No. 6), and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (No. 8) continue to thrive during the hot, summer months.

Can Stranger Things stay on top after Netflix releases new episodes of Money Heist this Friday? Or will the shows cannibalize their respective viewerships? Furthermore, what will the final season of Orange Is the New Black bring? Find out next Tuesday, July 23rd!

DID YOU KNOW? Glee is enjoying a renaissance thanks in part to Netflix streaming, but it’s only the second most-watched Ryan Murphy production in TV Time. What is the most-watched, you ask? That honor goes to FX’s American Horror Story.

Methodology: *The weekly Binge Report ranks shows with the most binge sessions. A binge session is when four or more episodes of a show are watched and tracked in our TV Time app within a given day.

Note: The network displayed is the network where the show first aired (e.g. “Friends” on NBC).
