BINGE REPORT: Teen Dramas Stay On Top As Sitcoms Soar

Bingers can't get enough of "Elite." Netflix

Elite prevails! The juicy Spanish series sustains No. 1 placement for a second week in a row with 10.06% of binge sessions. The teen dramas press on as Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why holds the No. 2 position for an additional week while other Netflix hits, Lucifer and Mindhunter, maintain a seat at the table -- coming in at No. 5 and No. 7, respectively.

However, it’s streaming sitcoms that make a splash this week. Binge report staple, Friends (No. 3), continues to outshine many new series during its final year on Netflix while The Big Bang Theory ascends to No. 4 thanks in part to CBS All Access. Furthermore, NBC comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, creeps up to No. 9 as CBS favorite, How I Met Your Mother (No. 10), lands yet another report comeback.

Netflix has more bingeable series on the way with Season 2 of Disenchantment and the series debut of Criminal arriving this Friday. Will they have a chance of breaking into the top 10? Find out on September 24th!

DID YOU KNOW? Not only did Elite top our “Shows on the Rise” and “Binge Report” last week, the series’ actors also won big! Based on in-app character votes, the top five trending characters in TV Time were all Elite stars.

Methodology: *The weekly Binge Report ranks shows with the most binge sessions. A binge session is when four or more episodes of a show are watched and tracked in our TV Time app within a given day.

Note: The network displayed is the network where the show first aired (e.g. “Friends” on NBC).
