SHOWS ON THE RISE: New Netflix Series Dominate September

Netflix wins again this week with its latest series, "Criminal: UK." Netflix

Netflix takes control this week with new premieres and much-talked about series starting with Criminal: United Kingdom (No. 1). The British procedural takes the lead with a rise ratio of 99.9%, followed closely by the second season of animated series, Disenchantment (No. 2). Docuseries, The Mind, Explained (No. 3), rounds out the top 3 as Netflix mini-series, Unbelievable, falls from last week’s No. 1 position to No. 5, and the long-awaited revival season of Top Boy climbs to No. 6 following its September 13th release.

Meanwhile, fresh horror series begin to creep up as we near October. French Netflix original, Marianne, finds placement at No. 7 while the Season 9 premiere of slasher series, American Horror Story: 1984 (No. 4), brings the FX favorite back into the fold. Additionally, animation continues to trend as SpongeBob SquarePants (No. 9) rides a 20 year anniversary high, and anime series, Vinland Saga (No. 10), gradually ascends during its current first season. 

Fall network premieres hit our screens this week with big shows such as: The Resident, This Is Us, Modern Family, and The Good Place all making their return. Plus, several series premieres including Prodigal Son, Stumptown, and Sunnyside! What will enter the top 10? Find out next Monday!
