Photography and settings are so beautiful and accurate and the cast is so damn good (with a few exceptions) that I liked Parade's End even if the plot is not very innovative and kind of slow (which is not a bad thing for a film, in my opinion, but I understand why people didn't like it so much). Someone said that it's just a "bad Downton Abbey": I haven't seen Downton Abbey but I also don't regret to have watched Parade's End, mostly (I have to admit it) because of the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Tietjens without Cumberbatch would be an absolutely boring and pretty much standard character, but Benedict made me like him and sympathise with him thanks to his incredibly talent. Certainly I'm not the first to say that he's one of the best actors of the moment.

Rebecca Hall is great too. My advice is to see it before judging, it's not a waste of time (BBC is always accurate in what she does!)

This is a funny and dramatic mini series based on a book. Well cast, well acted, beautifully costumed and featuring gorgeous sets. Bravo.
