If you added The Flash to your "To-watch list" you should be watching it as soon as possible. This series exceeded my expectations in every sense. Was expecting a good show and got an amazing one. Don't let the 23 episodes of season one scare you. It's a lot of episodes, but every one of them is worth watching. This show will melt your mind with it's story and will make you love these charismatic characters. Flash will be one of your favorite super heroes after you watch this.

If you're familiar with the Arrow show, this one is way much better. If you're not, but wants to watch Arrow too, I suggest you starting there for a better experience in the DC Series Universe, cause character from the shows will crossover and you might get little bit lost if watching only The Flash. Watching Arrow first will give you background of these characters and universe. In the middle of Arrow season 2 you will see Barry Allen debut on Arrow and will have the scene where he gets his powers, this scene will happen again on the first episode of Flash. I have followed a specific order and it worked for me, so here it is:

- First watch Arrow season 1 and 2, and then watch it until Arrow S03E07. Then you start Flash.
- The first crossover happens on The Flash S01E08 and finishes on Arrow S03E08. So watch both of these episodes in sequence.
- Then you should watch Arrow until S03E14 and The Flash until S01E17.
- The second crossover is with minor characters so you should watch in this order:
Arrow S03E15
The Flash S01E18
Arrow S03E16
The Flash S01E19
Arrow S03E17
- After that you keep with Arrow and finish season 3 and then finish The Flash season 1. There will be a small interaction between Arrow and Flash on the last episodes of each season, but if following this order it will be alright.

Anyway, this is just a suggestion if you're planning to watch both shows. If not, just go with Flash cause it will be worth.

i started watching the flash first i was almost done with season one and then i started arrow and beacause of the cross overs between these two tv shows i had quite a few spoilers for arrow :( but whatever

I agree, this show is amazing so you need to watch. I was already watching Arrow before The Flash came out and was already hooked, so when I heard The Flash was coming out and was part of Arrow I knew I wanted and had to watch and I'm glad I did. Get watching peeps, you will love it and won't be disappointed.

There isn't a big crossover on seasons 2 like it happened on season 1. I think the best option is just to watch it straight. Matter of fact, season 2 of Flash, so far, is not as good as season 1.

UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE

The main post was made as a guide for the first three seasons of Arrow and the very first one from Flash, so people wouldn't get spoiled if watching the episodes out of order. Now I will give you the guide for the new season.

If you have followed everything that I wrote above you will be up to date with Arrow and Flash, so you will want to start the following shows/seasons:
Arrow - Season 04
The Flash - Season 02
DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 01
Supergirl - Season 01

So here's how you watch all those seasons together to avoid SPOILERS between the shows:
- Start with Arrow and watch it until S04E07
- Then you start The Flash and go until S02E08 (a crossover with Arrow begins)
- Immediately after that Flash episode you should watch Arrow S04E08 (the crossover ends on this episode)
- After the crossover you should watch Arrow until S04E18 - A BIG EVENT happens on this episode and it is mentioned on The Flash and DC's Legend of Tomorrow. So watch first this episode.
- After that you can finish the way you want. Then start Supergirl and DC's Legends.

If you follow all that you will finish these new seasons without spoiling yourself and be ready for the next seasons.

SECOND OPTION:

If you go through each series page here on TVShow Time you will be able to see the original air date from EVERY episode. You don't even have to open that episode page, just the show main page and you will find this information there (if you're using the web version of TVShow Time).

You can always follow the air date, but then you will be watching the episodes one by one. For example:
Flash S02E01
Arrow S04E01
Flash S02E02
Arrow S04E02
Flash S02E03
Arrow S04E03
and so on...

Some people don't want to watch like this, specially when you finish a very good episode and just want to watch the next one.

So, it's up to you!

**** bilan saison 1****

Tres bonne série Dans la lignée de arrow mais avec un côté moins dramatique et plus léger. C'est cette pointe d'humour (merci Cisco) qui est tres rafraîchissante tout en alliant tout de même des scènes pleines d'émotions (jo/Barry, Barry/son père, combien de fois j'ai pleuré)! Bref les personnages sont attachant. Grant gustin dans le rôle de Barry est brillant, beau, drôle, très touchant et bien sur...rapide! Ce rôle lui va comme un gant.

Donc je conseille vivement. Le concept un metahumain/un episode peut paraître lourd quelques fois mais l'histoire de fond sur reverse flash et Barry a été passionnante.
Foncez les yeux fermés, ça déchire!

Very good series In line with arrow but with less dramatic and lighter side. It is this touch of humor (Cisco thank you) which is very refreshing while still combining scenes full of emotions (jo / Barry, Barry / her father, how many times I cried)! In short the characters are endearing. Grant Augustine in the role of Barry's brilliant, beautiful, funny, very touching and of course ... Quick! This role fits him like a glove.

So I highly recommend. The concept metahuman a / an episode can sometimes seem cumbersome, but the background story on reverse flash and Barry was exciting.
Go for the eyes closed, it rocks!

Je vais peut être en vexer qquns mais j'ai trouvé cette saison bien meilleure que celle de la série-mère! Les persos sont attachants, le script est solide, bref que du bon !

On peut pas dire que The Flash est meilleur que Arrow, ce n'est pas comparable. Arrow a ce côté dramatique que Flash n'a pas, c'est plus accentué sur l'humour et ce petit côté naïf

C'est sur que c'est différent, mais il n'empêche que cette année Arrow était, en terme de qualité pure et dure, en-dessous de son spin-off. Enfin bon c'est que mon avis ne faisons pas de polémique ^_^

Moi personnellement j'avais commencé y'a déjà un bout de temps, mais je n'étais pas allée plus loin que le 7ème épisode. Je ne sais pas pourquoi, elle ne m'avait pas emballé.

Personally I started there's been a while but I had not gone further than the 7th episode. I do not know why she had not packed me.

Ce sont surtout des héros totalement, différents: l'un avec des pouvoirs l'autre pas, des événements traumatisants assez opposés, un âge différent, enfin bref, je rejoins l'analyse selon laquelle les séries Arrow et Flash ne sont pas comparables mais bien complémentaires !
J'adore vos commentaires, ils sont d'une grande pertinence ! 😜
