I've watched too much TV to know Nikki was alive, and turned bad. Typical.

I'm sorry but nah. I won't keep on watching this show. I found the first episode uninteresting...

Pilot was great! Definitely will continue watching!
Also, Lucas (MacGyver) looks like a young Jared Padalecki 😏

Great start to a show with potential. Grew up watching the original series as a child...was not disappointed by this pilot of the remake with the familiar character names and locations, so I'm hoping it's a success...MacGyver, a paper clip and his Swiss army knife are back to save the world...fingers crossed on an eventual Murdock appearance.

I did not follow the old series, but my father is (mega) fissured. Just I saw some videos, scenes, etc. So I encouraged to see this new. Highlighting some points ...

First, a long time I've given up comparing with original remake, will never be the same. (Same book adaptation to film / series). Of course we expect to see that essence of the original but never expect anything like it. Okay, I did not watch the old, then it is "easy" not judge so still, expectations were high.
Second, eyewash and a half things WTF ?, exaggerations, and such thing is the footprint of MacGyver, I think I expected more of it, but it was just the pilot, had enough cool thing, then we are following. If it is to see realism, going to the Globe novel (do not want, thank you).
Third: guy I thought Lucas Till half again for the part ... But even I liked, after all.
Room: structural shell effects we see in all (or almost) TV series. The money is scarce, you can not expect anything! It has much worse out there, and being the series as it is (MacGyver, people, wake up, it's all lies. KKKKKKK), I swallow good.

Overall, I liked the series. It is not a "serious" series, but it is good to watch, we have fun and give a good laugh. Let's see how the next follow, normally the trend is improving. Paste everything can be good in just one episode, besides being impossible, breaking the mood.

Secure the habit of calling George Nick Stokes (<3) and let's go.

See original

Wow! Nikki was alive, was the bad guy and escaped !! I had never seen that coming. Besides what why the virus container was green and then changed to blue?! It's just stupid that it has a color but then it changes?! Are you for real?!

I think people go into series like MacGyver (and other reboots) w/their minds already made up, most of the time anyway. Now two similar reboots just hit the ground at the same time on two different networks. Lethal Weapon on FOX & MacGyver on CBS. Now take a look at the 'fan made' reviews on IMDB for each show (which are always cringe-worthy). CBS' MacGyver is filled with 1's while FOX's Lethal Weapon is shrouded in 10's & 9's & 8's. Ok, now I'm literally laughing out fn' loud.

I literally ripped into Lethal Weapon's pilot, it was, by all means one of the glossiest piles of by-the-numbers remakes I've ever seen. Literally. And Lethal Weapon has the advantage of Clayne Crawford, one of the best actors making moves in the business today. Not only did they give us an episode we've seen countless amounts of times in copycat series & films, but they also rushed the drain hole chemistry between FOX's well coined 'buddy cop-reluctant buddy cop' leads. But no no... Yeah yeah... By all means... 10's all around. Rly?

This isn't a review of Lethal Weapon, this is a review of MacGyver... Here we have another remake of an old 'classic', tho that isn't rly how I remember the original MacGyver. CBS created a pilot and thought... 'You know what, this isn't good enough.' So they went and got one of the hottest directors in the business, James Wan, to help make a new pilot. MacGyver doesn't boast an actor like Clayne Crawford, tho it does have CSI procedural vet George Eades.

I normally don't like to play recapper because I like to review and analyze. I was most worried about the lead and how he would come off, his picture looked so geeky... But now seeing the pilot I realize that he needs to embody a bit of that 'geekdom' so he can understandably pull off the crazy 'build something out of nothing' schtick he does. The pilot plot line is simple and predictable, but this is a CBS reboot, I didn't expect a riveting HBO classic. What Wan does do right is create an interesting story moving forward and firmly establishes the chemistry between its leads, something Lethal Weapon failed to do on multiple levels. Wan is basically the MacGyver of Directors, creating something out of nothing and I'm willing to bet that the near record breaking 11-Million viewers that showed up for this MacGyver pilot stick around to see how this one progresses.

Just like Lethal Weapon, I refuse to compare MacGyver to its original. It's 2016, it's irrelevant. We're here, this is happening. For whatever reason people want MacGyver to fail, they do. That's the only way to explain the excessive 1's vs Lethal Weapon's 10's. Newsflash, just like Hawaii Five-0, this thing is a rock solid Friday ratings juggernaut for CBS and it fits perfectly into its lineup for that specific night along with Blue Bloods. Is MacGyver a 10? Hell no. But is it a 1? Not a chance. It's barely a 5 or 6, but give it some time, look at what Hawaii Five-0 has managed to accomplish.

C chiant.
