Omg, the immigration story is so relevant to many people, so glad this topic was explored.

Oh my heart... this isn't what I was expecting with the Carmen storyline... and it broke my hurt even more actually. Because I'm sure their relationship was more than just protecting her friend. I mean... QUEER!!!! Can't wait for that moment to happen... maybe we will see Carmen again. Who knows.

The line “ they didn’t send them home, they send them away” was a great (and sad) comment, but it is so true👏🥺

I've been crying all episode long. First because of how adorable Dr Berkowitz is. Bless Penelope's heart for throwing that dinner for him! And then there's Carmen... I'm crying again!

A "comedy" that makes me cry i can't believe it. I think we can say that Netflix comedies are not normal comedies, like Unbreakle Kimmy Shmidt, they have some deep matters and issues that make me cry so much oh my god. My parents are immigrants from Dominican Republic to Italy, but they did it "the right way" but still I really felt this episode

What makes me really sad in this show is because Elena makes somre pretty valid arguments about feminism/sexism and she is often seen as a joke, the crazy vegetarian feminist trying to change the world...

What a punch in the stomach this episode!
And that is exactly what has happened. Families that have a fixed job, an established life, children born in America, being deported!
I recently learned of a case that the Latin husband had to return to the country that was born and leave the American wife along with the daughter in the USA. And he went to the kid, does not know the country of origin and will stay away from his family. This is absurd!
"They did not send them home, they sent them away!"

I loved that they addressed the immigration issue. I think they have managed to get through the message that "home" is where you are safe, happy and with whom you love. It reminded me of the story of the actress from Orange is the new black who arrived from school and discovered that the whole family had been deported. I wanted to punch Scott, in addition to forgetting the cake just spoke nonsense. I bet he voted for Trump. When Penelope said that immigrants take the services that Americans do not want, I almost applauded.
I'm going to miss Carmen.

I thought it was just another comedy series, but it makes us think and even get excited. I hope Carmen returns some time to the series.
