As much as I love the 50s I’m so freakin glad this shit didn’t carry over from then. I can’t even imagine. Fuck that, if you don’t love me for what I look like all the time you don’t deserve me. 🙌🏼

Midge: You’re being a bit over dramatic dad, aren’t you? Mom?
Mom: *calmly* You could have been dead in a ditch chopped up into pieces for all we knew
😂😂😂 thanks for not being over dramatic mom

'Maybe they put this adds in the newspaper to distract us, because if women don't realize what's going on in the world they won't step in and fix it. Because they will fix it and accessories it!" She is such a powerhouse!🔥

How great was that opening sequence of Midge remembering the moments she's had with Joel in that apartment and the transitions from one milestone to the next and then finally with her things ending up in her parents' apartment. Very well-done. Kinda like a balancing act with the acting, the directing, the props, the extras, etc.

My favorite scene was definitely Susie and Midge at that frankfurter place bonding over fries. Midge telling Susie that she wants to be friends with Susie and wants to know more about her family was very sweet. It made me smile when Susie finally caved and told her about her asshole brothers, her okay sister, her mom, and her asshole dad. These two are so great together and if I had my way, all of Joel's scenes will disappear from the show and I would replace them with more Midge/Susie scenes.

Of course Joel moved in with Penny. His excuse for leaving Midge was pretty thin and didn't make any sense. Man the fuck up, asshole. Just because his ego was bruised when he flamed out onstage that one night, he decides to leave Midge because she wouldn't look at him the same way. What in the actual fuck? Did I misunderstood what he meant there? Midge loved him no matter what and that wasn't enough for him so he let his insecurity got the better of him and blows up his marriage. Alrighty then.

Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle are perfect as Midge's parents, Abe and Rose. I laughed when Abe said "I still control this house! I'm just doing it in there." after Ethan got his way with the TV and Abe is forced to retreat to his study. Truly a delight seeing Midge's parents and them having to deal with Midge back at home again.
