This latest episode really caught the heart and soul of Star Trek. Brandon Braga is in high gear already. This is developing into a very nice sci-fi show with a kick butt comedy. This episode the comedy was more natural and situational. I do love the wise cracks too.

I think The Orville gets better and better with each episode. I like the social commentary, I liked the crude jokes kept to a minimum and I liked that they didn't stick an obligatory "Happy Ending" on the story. I enjoy that each episode has been a character reveal, last episode was Alana's, and this one was Bortus. The combo of Gotham and The Orville makes for quality TV viewing.

In the opening sequence this show switched (relatively) seamlessly from making a crass d$*# joke with the Blob and Doctor to presenting a moral dilemma and current day topic like gender identity. I’m getting used to this blending of whimsy with genuine drama. I feel like I’m watching Star Trek again in its 90s heyday! Well done Seth; truly hope FOX lets this show continue to fly.

I know it didn't have a feel good happy ending, but it doesn't change the fact that the message this episode delivered is so so important.

Everyone's saying there was not much comedy in this episode. But there was plenty. The main storyline was just so emotional and finished off with a perfect ending, that everyone forgets about the little nuggets here and there.
Loved it.
