Dana Scully: There are X-files cases, that describe similar paranormal findings. Alien abductees, who came back with anomalous medical stats.

John Doggett: You know, these words, "anomalous", "supernatural", "paranormal", they proport to explain something by not explaining it. It's lazy!

As soon I saw kids playing and all, I was afraid something really bad was about to happen...
After season 7 I'm a little tired of this type of episodes to be honest. Although it was an amazing episode, they all saw Billy! It was very interesting.
But now I see some similarities between Mulder and Doggett. Mulder and Samantha and Doggett and his little brother? Or son? I don't know, but I want to know more about Doggett for sure!

This is such a good episode. It's this episode that made me really start liking Agent Doggett.

I didn’t really understand if Billie was alive or if it was some kind of vision. So the man abducted kids and had the teenager (now 20 something year old) help him by scaring him and abusing him? Why did he not kidnap anyone else during those 10 years? Did Billie come back to life only to bring in X Files investigators and make sure his brother did not suffer the same fate as him? Why the knife in the bed? Why everything? Does this have anything to do with walk-in theories and preventing child suffering? Too confusing.
Btw I like how Scully explained to Doggett that even if the case remains a mistery it doesn’t mean they’ve failed (she must have reached that conclusion after much frustration herself).
Finally, how’s the scene with the parents admiring the rotten bones of their child even allowed?

Be aware of children who came back suddenly to life...

While many of these themes have been explored by the series before and better, this was a good episode. Although I don’t understand why the writers felt the need to give Doggett a similar backstory to Mulder (the family member I lost and I need to know the truth), it’s as if Chris Carter feels like the show can’t work without a Mulder and Scully rather then giving Doggett a chance to be his own character and bring his own dynamic into the mix, because Robert Patrick is a damn good actor.

Damn, this episode was good, but I hopped they would find at least some fantasy explanation for the kid showing up again... And why after 10 years?

Doggett is getting better and better!
Scully too, finally believing that weird and unexplained stuff can happen every now and then.

At least we get to see Mulder in the opening, right?
