Haha!

Nice standalone (almost) episode for Peter and his adventures in the state of Washington with Martha Plimpton as Sheriff Mathis. So Peter wasn't seeing things when he kept on seeing Newton. It's just that he was mistaken when he thought Newton and company were involved with the murders of the two women and maybe the deputy sheriff as well. I liked Krista the waitress and was so bummed when she got killed by that random dude.

Peter and Mathis had a nice chemistry going and they seemed to ease into the partnership pretty well. Mathis giving Peter the "Find the crack" pen was a nice gesture. I'm sure Ferguson wouldn't have minded Mathis giving it to Peter since he did help in saving his life.

I was bracing myself for that reveal in the end and yet I still squealed!

"Mr. Secretary."
"Hello, son."

😲

Such a good reveal. Walternate looks really scary and I hate him already. Give me Walter any day. Should be interesting to see this interaction in the next episode and how Peter will react to meeting his biological father.

Meanwhile back in Boston, Walter is completely losing it and thankfully Astrid and Olivia are there to take care of him. It was heartbreaking to see the situation he was living in with Peter gone: the house is a complete mess and there was no food in the refrigerator. He went grocery shopping, but was overwhelmed by it all and just broke down in the supermarket. So sad. The scene with all three characters in the kitchen made me tear up. I love this little family unit so much.

I cracked up at Peter's alias - Gene Cowan, lol. Very cute.

Finally the series lead in the overall story! I was tired of making case by case and move 2 cm each episode!

The story of Fringe actually starts and is ready (LONG)
