This "Game of Thrones" Villain Wants to Return for the Spinoffs

The final "Game of Thrones" season will air in 2019. HBO

HBO is currently working on not one, not two, but five spinoffs of its crown jewel series, Game of Thrones. And while the network has already made it clear that the series, although prequels, will not focus on characters we've met before, one of the show's most notorious villains said he'd be available anyway, just in case.

Charles Dance, who played the not-so-dearly departed Tywin Lannister on the series for many seasons, said he would absolutely consider returning in one of the prequels—as long as it was good enough.

"If it was in the same calibre, yes," the actor told U.K.'s Metro. "Because Game Of Thrones really was as good as it gets. It’s a fantastic series. I look back on it fondly."

His experience wasn't entirely painless, however.

"Occasionally you have long days in the cold, the horse doesn’t behave properly, or the armour sticks in the back of your neck," he said, "but we’re not down in the mines digging for coal, we’re actors. We’re pretending for everything, and we’re very lucky to be able to do that."
