SHOWS ON THE RISE: Nostalgia Hits Home As We Enter July

The third season of "Stranger Things" won big over the holiday weekend! Netflix

It comes as no surprise that Netflix favorite, Stranger Things, rose to the top this past week. The third installment offers yet another action-packed adventure filled with ‘80s nostalgia and pop culture references; bringing the series to No. 1 with a rise ratio of 97.6%. The nostalgia continued thanks in part to Netflix streaming as ‘90s sitcom classic, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (No. 4), entered the top 10 and musical comedy, Glee (No. 5), held placement for a second week. Additionally, The CW’s retired crime series, Veronica Mars (No. 7), had a resurgence due to Hulu’s upcoming revival, which arrives at month’s end.

Meanwhile, Netflix carried on its summer domination with family drama, Free Rein, earning a No. 3 position while animated series, 7Seeds (No. 8), and new comedy, Family Business (No. 10), ascend following their recent releases.

With Snowfall, Scream: The TV Series, and 3Below: Tales of Arcadia all making their return this week, what will enter the top 10? Find out next Monday!

DID YOU KNOW? Despite the show’s end in 2015, Glee remains the 6th most-tracked FOX series in TV Time!
