There's a New Sheriff in Hell on "Supernatural"

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles in "Supernatural." The CW

It's lucky 13 for Supernatural, which has finally released a new trailer for its upcoming 13th season.

It has everything: demons, gunfights, Baby the Impala, a new sheriff in town (a.k.a. Hell). But first—curly fries.

And while Castiel might not be anywhere to be found in the trailer, he is front and center on the new poster.

"Death is not the end for Castiel," executive producer Andrew Dabb told TVLine of the character's return. "It’s a part of his story. That being said, he’s more dead than people usually get on our show when we pick up our season. Castiel has a big role to play for us, but that may not be as soon as some people are hoping.”

Another character who will be back? The Archangel Michael, who is alive and well in Sam and Dean's alternate reality.

“The Michael of apocalypse world is the victor,” Dabb told Entertainment Weekly about the new version of the character (played by Christian Keyes). “He’s a very different character than the one we met even in season 5. He’s Genghis Khan. He’s been through the wars. He’s conquered the world.”

Supernatural returns Thursday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
