WEEKEND DOSE: "American Vandal" Drops, "The Strain" Wraps Against Emmy Weekend

"The Strain" wraps it's final season on Sunday. Marni Grossman/ FX

It's a mostly sleepy weekend on the release front, as fans turn to TV's biggest night on Sunday's Emmy Awards.

Show Updates:

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is going to be on for a good bit longer. Comedy Central has extended him through 2022. Wow that's a long contract.

Trending on TV This Weekend: September 15-17th

Netflix new series American Vandal has dropped. All 8-episodes are available now. The show is a parody on the crime drama. It's been knocked for being young and childish, but overall the reviews have been quite good. Let us know what you think.

Vice Principals starts it's second and final season on HBO on Sunday. The comedy (from the brain of Eastbound and Down's Danny McBride) is unlike anything on television.

The Strain series finale over on FX will come up against the 8 pm EST-cast of the Emmys on Sunday. This year Stephen Colbert hosts the awards ceremony. Let us know your predictions. Here are ours for the major categories.
