10. Tyrion Reveals His Scarred Face
During the Battle of the Blackwater, Tyrion is injured and fell into unconsciousness. Upon awaking Shae removed his bandages revealing a facial scar that will forever become iconic. In the aftermath, Shae declared her love for him and begged him to runaway with her.
9. The Battle of the Blackwater
One of the most memorable battles in the Game of Thrones pantheon, the Battle of the Blackwater was Stannis’ attempt to take King's Landing and usurp Joffrey's right to the Iron Throne. However, an unlikely Tyrion led the defense of the city and successfully destroyed most of Stannis' fleet with wildfire.
8. Tyrion Slaps Joffrey
Our number eight moment, was a literal meme'd moment in the making. After triggering a riot, Tyrion slapped Joffrey when his nephew refused to listen to his criticism and exclaimed, "now I've struck a king!"
7. Daenerys' Dragons Forge Her Escape
Upon learning from Pyat Pree that he will keep her chained in the House of the Undying for eternity, Daenerys ordered her dragons to breathe fire. Upon hearing "dracarys" they killed the warlock and freed her from her chains.
6. Arya Saves Gendry
On Arya's travels back to Winterfell, her party of misfits is attacked by Joffrey’s men. When the soldiers demanded she identify Gendry, Arya quickly pointed out a recruit whose throat was subsequently slit.
5. Daenerys' Vision
Fans who shipped Khal Drogo and Dany from the start wept with joy when at the House of the Undying, Daenerys experienced a vision in which she was reunited with Drogo and got to meet her infant son Rhaego.
4. White Walkers On The Move
Surrounded by fog, Sam saw an army of Wights led by a White Walker on the move towards the Night's Watch’s camp while atop the Fist of the First Men and the collective fandom shuddered with anticipation.
3. Talisa And Robb Unite
It was teased since the moment we met Lady Talisa, but our third moment from Season 2 was the scene where Talisa and Robb finally admitted their feelings for one another and consummated their relationship, setting up a union fraught with many MANY problems.
2. White Walkers Do Exist
When Sam, Grenn, and Eddison journeyed beyond the Wall they found the unthinkable. Sam sought shelter behind a rock, but a White Walker found him and then mysteriously ignored him (an event we still can't explain).
1. Melisandre Gives Birth
The show continued to surprise us in many ways in Season 2, so our final top moment was naturally something you don't see everyday. Following Melisandre and Stannis Baratheon's "partnership," she was revealed to be pregnant and gave birth to a Shadow while Ser Davos Seaworth watched in terror.
