15 Shows to Watch After "Jane the Virgin"

Rebecca's musical trip through life is worth a watch. The CW

After five seasons, Jane the Virgin’s story is no longer “to be continued.” The show wrapped up its five-season run earlier this week and if you haven’t watched it yet, no spoilers, but know that the show wrapped up on a happy (and sometimes surprising) note for everyone. And if you have watched it, you might still be crying happy tears regarding Jane’s perfect ending.

Now that it’s over, you’ve more than likely now got a giant Jane the Virgin-sized hole in your heart where Jane, Rafael, Xo, Alba, Rogelio, and Petra used to be. Thankfully, there are plenty of other shows out there to give you warm and fuzzy feelings, and some full of twists and turns making them feel like they’re right out of a telenovela. While nothing will ever replace Jane, here are 15 shows to watch next.

You Me Her

After a couple both falls in love with a call-girl, the trio enters into a polyamorous relationship.

Grace and Frankie

The five-season Netflix show has gained a cult-like status over the years and reminded us that Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will always be fabulous.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists

If you liked Pretty Little Liars, The Perfectionists is more of the same — murder, mystery, backstabbing, and fabulous outfits.

Dead to Me

Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are drinking wine and getting even in this dark Netflix dramedy.

Trinkets

Three teenagers stuck together in at Shoplifters Anonymous forge an unlikely friendship as they all try to work through their problems together.

Lovesick

The show started off as “Scrotal Recall,” but thankfully the name was changed to something a little bit friendlier. And it’s a good thing because Lovesick is heartwarming and heartfelt through and through.

On My Block

Starting high school can be rough, as a group of friends at an inner-city Los Angeles school learn in this coming-of-age comedy.

Greenhouse Academy

After two sisters are sent away to boarding school they uncover a giant conspiracy they must work together to stop.

The Hook Up Plan

The series follows the misadventures of Elsa and her friends after she falls for a male escort — unknowing that her friends actually hired the escort to boost her confidence.

Younger

Younger is full of drama, mistaken identities, and literary fantasies which makes it a perfect companion to Jane.

Good Witch

Not all witches on Netflix are into the dark arts, as the Good Witch is true to its name.

One Day at a Time

If you’re looking for another show with a huge heart, look no further than One Day at a Time. Though Netflix canceled it after Season 3, it will live on with Season 4 on Pop TV.

The Bold Type

Follow along with the ups and downs of life, both personal and professional, with Kat, Sutton, and Jane, all employees at the fictional Scarlett magazine.

Alexa & Katie

At the start of their freshman year of high school, Alexa starts undergoing cancer treatment as her best friend Katie sticks with her through it all (including shaving her head!).

Crazy-Ex Girlfriend

Dramatic, over-the-top, unfolding love stories, and musical numbers? If you haven’t watched Crazy Ex-Girlfriend yet you’re missing out because Rebecca Bloom’s journey to find herself is something you don’t want to miss.
