10 Craziest Moments From "Riverdale's" Season 3 Finale

"Riverdale" always keeps fans guessing. The CW

If you're a fan of Riverdale, then you know just how wild this show can get. Each episode tries to outdo the last in terms of how many twists are in one hour. And when it comes to season finales? Riverdale's all, "Hold my beer."

But when we sat down to watch the season three finale of Riverdale, we had no idea what was in store. This was hands down one of the craziest episodes of Riverdale we have ever seen. With multiple deaths, a shocking flash forward, unexpected reunions and more, this episode was even more of a roller coaster ride than normal. Just when you think Riverdale can't get any crazier, this episode happens!

But what was the most shocking moment of the Riverdale season three finale? Let's count down the top 10 to see which revelation earned the top spot!

10. Veronica and Betty were forced to drink poison

During the "Midnight Children's" final game of Gryphons and Gargoyles, Veronica and Betty were forced to drink chalices in a Russian Roulette style game, believing that one of them had poison in it. Turns out, they all had poison. But at least Veronica proved her loyalty to Betty and drank the one they thought had poison in it, "saving" her friend!

9. Hal dies (again)

After Betty refuses to kill her dad during the game, Penelope Blossom shows up and does it for her. It was a shocking moment because Betty had just decided not to be like her father and it was a win for the character, and Penelope's impatience came out of nowhere. There are no more last-minute resurrections or reprieves for Hal this time -- the gunshot to the head is pretty hard to retcon.

8. Alice's betrayal

Just when it seemed that all hope was lost for Alice, she betrayed the Farm and helped Cheryl escape with Juniper. Maybe Betty's mom hadn't gone completely crazy after all!

7. The Gargoyle King's reveal

After a full season of wondering who the Gargoyle King was, we finally learned that it was ... Chic! He was back with newly red hair and underneath the Gargoyle King mask to wreak some havoc thanks to Penelope Blossom.

6. Cheryl saves the day

Penelope Blossom does not play fair. After Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica win her Gryphons and Gargoyles game, she sends the Gargoyle gang after them anyways to kill them. Thankfully Cheryl showed up with the Serpents and Pretty Poisons just in time to save them. Talk about perfect timing.

5. The core four win

After so many near-misses and almost dying so many times, Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica not only win the game but they're saved by their friends. Betty and Veronica drink the antidote to the poison, and all seemed okay. They shared a hug full of relief. It's been a long time since we've seen them this happy!

4. The real brother arrives

Chic was not Betty's brother, but the real missing Cooper/Jones baby does show up in the finale and he's none other than the FBI agent who had been working with Alice all along to expose the Farm! Charles is both Betty's half-brother as well as Jughead's half-brother, so dates and family dinners are about to be really awkward.

3. Jason's corpse is found

The Farm had been using Jason Blossom's corpse to make Cheryl hallucinate and believe she had been talking with her real brother to get her on their side. When she found out the truth, she freaked out. Did she have a mental break though? After the Farm disappeared, Cheryl brought Jason's corpse to her house and was seen having a conversation with him/it. Yikes.

2. Happily ever after?

The gang's back together! After surviving the final game of G&G, The finale ended with the core four sitting in Pop's, happily enjoying milkshakes and promising to have the best, normal senior year ever. In Riverdale? Sounds too good to be true...

1. That flash forward

Jughead, you in trouble. Following a delicious milkshake at Pop's, we smash cut to spring break of senior year, many months in the future, and Archie, Betty and Veronica are in their underwear, covered in blood, standing next to a bonfire and holding Jughead's beanie. They burn the beanie and their clothes, vowing to never speak of this night every again. Um, what happened? Whose blood was that? Where is Jughead?! Something tells us senior year is not going to be as smooth, fun or normal as the core four think ...
