Sleepers tells the hard story of Martin, a corrupt cop who moves between the underworld of Utrecht and the upper world of criminal investigation. While his best friend Willem and newcomer Dwight are increasingly moving toward the underworld, Martin cannot let on to wife, who is herself a skilled internal affairs detective.
