Julian is a psychiatric patient and wants to walk from Berlin to southern Germany. He believes that through the power of walking he can heal the heart sick father of his friend who has died. First of all, he runs in front of the young doctor Ju's car, whom he soon runs into again by chance. She feels unhappy, seeks her heart, and spontaneously joins the likeable dreamer on his way to Tuttlingen, where the sick man lives.
