Nakata Kouji was born January 26, 1939 in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. He graduated from Osaka Prefectural Kitano High School and went to Waseda University where he majored in Humanities. Nakata is an actor and voice actor. He is president of theatrical company Gekidan Kai and representative director of Musashino Voice Actor School (むさしの声優学院).
