It is 1943. Jelle, a simple fisherman, is arrested by the Germans. His son Germ, who is in the resistance, was caught dropping a weapon and Jelle is being interrogated about this. Gradually, he discovers what happened to his son. Jelle thinks about his life and makes a drastic decision.
