The Rosales family are a wealthy Filipino American family engaged in business and investment living in an upscale neighborhood in San Francisco, California. Jobert Rosales is the grandson of Carmelo "Melo" Rosales, an elderly Filipino World War II veteran living in the United States who tells his war stories to his grandson Jobert. In one flashback, he tells the story of his participation during World War II, when his troop was ordered to bury the Yamashita's gold.
