The Defense Forces and the troops of the Vöyri Military School disarmed four hundred Russian soldiers in Ylistaro on the morning of January 28, 1918. All the Russian garrisons in Southern Ostrobothnia were disarmed in four days. The documentary depicts the causes and contradictions that led to January Sunday. It links the events in Ylistaro to the pressures of newly independent Finland and the turmoil in Russia, weakened by two revolutions.
