A conscientious night watchman, Xenophon, at the risk of his life, saves the secret books of a factory during a fire. His bosses are trying to take them in each way in their own way, because the books prove on the one hand that one was stealing the other and on the other hand that they had extramarital relationships. So,the night watchman engages in endless comic situations.
