The story of the last president of the Second Spanish Republic after the military uprising that led to the tragic Civil War. It recreates and humanizes the life of the distinguished political figure, Azana, until his last days in Montauban, going through the harshness of exile. It narrates the experiences of those days and, at the same time, explores the relationship between history and fiction and reflects on how artists try to explain a historical reality.
