The era of the Drama Club in Prague would not be what it was for the theater of the 1960s, without the performance of director Jan Kačer Revizor. Jan Kačer was at the very beginnings of the theater, he was the one who brought a number of excellent actors from the Ostrava Drama Club, and the set designer L. Hrůza came with him. Both also took part in the performance Revizor (premiere took place on May 23, 1967, the TV record in the studio is from 1971). The famous and popular performance translated by Z. Mahler underlined the philosophy of this theater, based on acting interplay and precise directing work, and represented one current in the direction of the Drama Club of the 1960s, namely the one focused on Russian classics. It provided a unique opportunity for the stars, led by the recently deceased P. Landovský in the role of President and J. Kodet as Chlestakov, Excel also excelled.
