Dreams, successes and disappointments have accompanied Boney M., Europe's most successful pop band of the seventies, since it was founded in 1975. There are currently three formations under the name "Boney M." appear. With Boney M. millions were turned over, hundreds of gold records testify to the fame of days gone by. Boney M. was the first western pop band to appear in what was then the USSR in 1978. In the same year, the three female members and the man who appeared on stage at the shows were received by Queen Elizabeth II. Filmmakers Eddy Jacobs and Christian Lang traced the band's history. The starting point for the cinematic search for clues is a story that has been told in the hometown of Jacobs and Lang, the little Hessian nest Lammerspiel, for generations: "Boney M. come from Lammerspiel".
