After an introduction in which the various stages that led to the state of war in Vietnam are recalled, the film tries to highlight the true nature of the conflict and to demonstrate its tragic nature. Without a precise order, we thus have the opportunity to witness the preparation of air and land attacks by both American soldiers and the Vietcong and some war and guerrilla actions. The bombings north and south of the 17th parallel are illustrated with footage from US aircraft carriers and aircraft, as well as footage taken by the Communists themselves. Other sequences in the film concern the political-religious situation in Saigon, the Vietcong's guerrilla methods and the situation of the Vietnamese population.
