Mr. Dodek, an old stage actor, is trying to get a plot. On the street, he is met by an aspiring journalist who confides in her difficult childhood. He gets into a taxi driven by an old friend Felek. At the office manager, he tells about his pre-war professional adventures, when he was a sailor, car fitter, shop owner, and waiter.
