Sakthivel Gounder (Sarath Kumar) is a rich, influential and one of the most educated men in his district. He has a wife Latha (Raadhika), three sons, and a daughter. Sakthivel hates his youngest son Chinnarasu (Sarath Kumar). Sakthivel's daughter's wedding is fixed, and Nandini (Devayani (actress)) is the groom's sister. She meets Chinnarasu during her brother's wedding and wonders why Sakthivel dislikes him. Chinnarasu's sidekick (Manivannan) tells a flashback to Nandini.
