Diary of a Shepherd Dog is a Dutch television series in sixteen episodes, directed by Willy van Hemert and broadcast by the KRO between January 16, 1978, and January 29, 1980. The series was produced by Joop van den Ende. The first season of eight episodes is a fairly accurate adaptation of The Crow on the Crossbeam, the first part of the trilogy Chronicle of a Parish by priest-author Jacques Schreurs. The series was a resounding success and was aired in countries including Germany, Finland, and South America.
