Neither Anya nor Mitya realize that their feelings will be used in a multi-pass political operation called Muhabbat. Translated from Farsi, this means "love." It is love that turns them into hostages of the dangerous CIA espionage game, aimed to disrupt the Soviet Union's exit from the war.
