In an attempt to find answers, Cecilie examines sites and archaeological finds, connected to the development of power in the Viking Age, including the Jelling monument, the ring castle Trelleborg, wodan coins from Ribe, the Frankish national yearbooks, a possible undiscovered center of power on Falster and looted tombs throughout Scandinavia.
