Eugene, a high school student, initially didn't believe in ghosts because his grandmother's promise of returning as a spirit after death remained unfulfilled from his childhood. He meets Mogari, a descendant of spiritual mediums, who attends a regular high school but is required by his family to conduct exorcisms in Kamakura, a place known for spirits gathering.
