Adriana is a physical therapist hired to work for the elderly Artur Brandão, a difficult millionaire, gaining his friendship. A lonely man whose family is only interested in his money, Artur decides to marry Adriana in order to make her his heir; however, on the night he notifies his relatives, he is murdered.
