BINGE REPORT: The Winter Games Puts a Dent in Programming, But Netflix Continues to Fare Well

"La Casa de Papel" earns the crown for the fifth time at No. 1. Netflix

With very few linear programs on during the final week of the Winter Games, viewers clung close to streaming providers and nostalgia-driven shows. Netflix claimed four out of the ten spots on this week’s Binge Report, allowing for La Casa de Papel to claim the first position for the fifth week in a row and Black Mirror (No. 10) to return to the chart. Rounding off Netflix’s dominance was Everything Sucks! (No. 4) and Altered Carbon (No. 7).

Viewers looked to the familiar, as Friends chugged into the No. 2 position, accompanied by Pretty Little Liars (No. 9) and Shondaland earners Grey’s Anatomy (No. 3) and How to Get Away with Murder (No. 8). Stick around to see what next week’s report will reveal as new and returning programming heads back to the small screen. Will The Looming Tower be a win for Hulu? How will iZombie fare for the CW after an eight-month hiatus? Can Atlanta breakthrough in its second season? We will be here next week to deliver all the results.

*The weekly Binge Report tracks and ranks shows based on the number of episodes consumed by the millions of fans across the globe in our TV Time app.
