Magnificent. I watched on two consecutive days, five episodes each day.
This is a show that shows the fascinating way the reality of the American criminal justice system and even how society behaves there about it.
I am the legal field and when starting, I just got my permission to advocate. In the little experience I have so far, I believe that we Brazilians need to also review various criminal policies and positions as a society.
Watch. It will make you think and will even entertain you more than most suspenseful series there.
With a spice even better, because you'll be seeing the real life happening.

January 2016

Também tirei minha OAB em 2015. Vou começar a ver.

"The poor lose, the poor lose all the time"
Despite the low education Steven Avery summed up the world concept of justice

PS: Steven's attorneys are simply cool

Initially, the idea of a bumpy documentary smelled a bit, because when I want to see it I want to tell the story from start to finish, without interruption, but this is the case for this kind of documentary is the solution best. There is too much to say and in 1 or 2 hours you will not even be able to tell half of the story. However, the story itself is told by god, the vicissitudes make the chills come; A man who is constantly targeted by the authorities and that the law does not protect, but rather does everything to make people believe that he is guilty of a murder. This is just a flourish of history that tells making a murderer. Watch this documentary, it's something really amazing.

There is no doubt there's foul play, none whatsoever. And it appears that having a family of idiots is now a crime and can be held against you. What a shame, I now have a total lack of faith in the justice system. There's an old MMA saying, don't leave it in the hands of the judges.

It's obvious that there was foul play. I just don't understand why the hell the jurors couldn't see that.

From the moment I started watching, I couldn't stop. As a European, I was obviously interested in getting to know more about how things work in the US. And although I know not every case is like this, I have to say, watching this made me feel so angry, but also so sad.

It all started off because of a feud between Steven Avery and his cousin. The witch hunt he faced in the first case was shocking. He had to lose 18 years for a crime he didn't commit because of corrupt people. But worst of all, the few who had worked on his first case and we're still working for Manitowoc County managed to be involved in the second case, even though they had been deposed. Not only that, but I truly believe that they are the ones who planted the evidence. Clearly everybody, apart from Steven's lawyers, were determined to send him in jail for the rest of his life.

Also, the whole case against Brendan Dassey is just absolute bullshit. They took advantage of the fact that he's not very bright in order to coerce him into confessing and accusing his uncle. So basically this case is based solely on a confession obtained by coercion and nothing else. No DNA whatsoever ever linked him to Teresa Halbach. And don't get me started on the first guy who was supposed to be defending his case. What a joke of a man ! Clearly from the start he wanted Brendan to plead guilty in order for him to be used as an asset against his uncle.

As for those related to the victim, Teresa Halbach, I don't really know what to think about them. Her ex-boyfriend & roommate seemed a little shady. Could they be involved ? I don't know. But I definitely believe it was someone she knew based on the fact that only someone close to her would have had access to the password needed in order to delete some of the messages on her voice. As for her brother, I don't know if it was grief or else, but seriously I don't get how all along he remained convinced of Steven and Brendan's guilt because to me, it seems pretty obvious that both cases are shaky, especially Brendan's.

Anyway, I'm just really saddened that in the end they were found guilty. Not only was Teresa murdered, but two people have lost their lives and freedom. I feel so sorry for them and their family. Clearly, being poor, not very bright and not well integrated ended up going against them. I hope they'll get justice one day and get released, even though it won't make up for the years they've lost. I also hope they find Teresa's real murder, because she too deserves justice.
