I can't choose between Cheers or Frasier because both have amazing episodes, amazing characters... everything is so funny... I will always watch both shows and I love Frasier so much it's one of the best TV shows ever, just saying! :)

WTF ... There's no competition between the two, Cheers is waaaaaay better

I honestly thought Frasier and Roz would finally get together. That was my series finale ending prediction. I do like how they did the plane scene with it being Chicago rather than San Franciso. One of the greatest shows ever made.

Agreed! I really was hoping Roz and Fraiser would get together. To me it made so much more sense and it would have been so much better.

Even after 24 years since it first aired it still is one of the funniest sitcoms ever made.

Amazing show, I'm completely in love with Niles and would recommend this show to everyone! Smart, tasteful, not so serious, this is what I call a truly great entertainment!

While Seinfeld was far more pioneering in its comedy, Frasier is by and large a much tighter production - the creators clearly took the format of the sitcom seriously and in the process produced what is arguably the finest technical example of the traditional 2-camera show. Married to the comic sensibilities of the 90s, mostly bereft of overt politics, and aimed squarely at adults, the show actually provides an interesting perspective on the social environment of a period that is receding into history - the benign cover conferred by its status as a network sitcom notwithstanding, some of the attitudes portrayed might be a bit cringe-inducing to contemporary ears. The incredible precision and depth of the writing and performances, however, should belie any notion of thoughtlessness.

A lot of reviewers and viewers note a drop in quality over time, particularly from season 8 forward, largely ascribing it to the decision to break the Niles/Daphne tension. I agree to some extent, but in large part I would chalk it up to the natural evolution of the series - one of its great joys early on is just how uncomfortable with one another the characters are portrayed as being, but whether due to writing decisions or evolving chemistry amongst the actors, that edge had mostly softened by season 7. Along with this came an increasing tendency towards more inventive (read: cartoonish) scenarios as the series wore on - not a patter unique to this series by any means. But the level of craftsmanship doesn't let up throughout. There are still some truly excellent episodes in the final few years of the run, and even at its weakest, Frasier remains better than almost any other examples in the genre, before or after.

Extra points for the inventively minimalistic presentation and for recognizing the weird but special bond between comedy and jazz. And even more extra points for basically perfecting the "who's on first?" template time and again.

I have always loved this show. Re-watched it so many times. I love how the underlying theme is that for a learned doctor, Frasier is constantly getting into trouble with misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

I have noticed that you have watched some of my favorite comedies of all time Frasier, Friends, Big Bang, HIMYM and The Office. But, you haven't seen Seinfeld. I really recommend watching it. It's one of my favorites if not my favorite. It's definitely one of best.

Shame on you. How can you even put the two together in the same sentence? TBBT is the worst modern comedy production I've seen in years. Frasier is in a completely different place.

Born as a spin off of the Cheers series, Frasier recounts the life of a psychiatrist who returns to his hometown Seattle after a shattered relationship. In my opinion one of the greatest comedy television series of all time, but unfortunately in Italy has remained inexplicably almost unknown.

This comedy is a small masterpiece unfortunately (and inexplicably) little known in Italy. The two psychiatrists Frasier and Niles Crane are hilarious, the humor of this show remains original after all these years. The contrast between the high themes (wines, high society, snobbism) and the essentially childish and paranoid character of the protagonists, makes Frasier a treat for all comedy lovers, the good ones.
