Claude Lanzmann has found Jewish survivors of the extermination camps. He tracked down the Nazis who were in hiding and managed to film them clandestinely. He returned to the scene, to the neighboring villages of Chelmno, Ponari, Treblinka, Sobibor, Auschwitz, to question the Polish witnesses.
