A young girl named Bulma is searching for magical spheres known as the Dragon Balls, which can be used to summon a dragon capable of granting any wish. This quest leads her to meet Son Goku, a boy with superhuman strength who lives alone in the mountains and possesses the fourth Dragon Ball, a keepsake left to him by his late grandfather. Along their journey, they meet a desert bandit named Yamcha, a perverted shape-shifting pig called Oolong, and the elderly martial arts master Master Roshi. Together, they find themselves facing the powerful Red Ribbon Army, which is also seeking the Dragon Balls.
