A lot has happened since Courage in the chest: Henry and Elna have moved to Spain, Nils and Trine have moved into Elna's old apartment, Målfrid has moved to Africa and Karl is moving into a luxury apartment in the fictional Barlind Allé on Frogner in Oslo. Later, Elna and Henry start a restaurant that specializes in Norwegian food, Casa Elna Noruega. Nils and Trine get 4 kids, Ole, Dole and Doffen, triplets and "Little" Elna and Målfrid get a new fiancé, Malcom. This is returned to in the film Millennium Party. In his new home, Karl receives reasonably quick daily visits from several of the neighbors, both on time and off time.
