On a historical pilgrimage to Avignon, Koba, from the Baltic Sea island kingdom of Kurland, meets François Fonsalette, a diplomat with a passion for archaeology. They fall in love, but Koba must return to her country. François Fonsalette, determined to find her again, this woman with her radiant freshness and wonderful accent, gets himself appointed French ambassador to Kurland. But their paths cross at Orly airport: Koba, in fact a princess of Kurland (a fact François was unaware of), is returning to France as an au pair. From passionate reunions to heartbreaking misunderstandings, the two lovebirds take us on an emotional rollercoaster in this 1970s fairy tale.
