Superhero series came to the rescue this past week as the debut of The Boys enters at No. 1! The dark comedy from Amazon Prime Video made its report debut with a rise ratio of 100% while network superhero favorites, The Flash (No. 6) and Supergirl (No. 7), had a resurgence thanks in part to Netflix streaming. Netflix continues to make waves with the final season of Orange Is the New Black (No. 2) and hit reality reboot, Queer Eye (No. 4). And, of course, Hulu’s Veronica Mars revival maintains their No. 3 placement for a second week.
Meanwhile, cable series score big as the Season 2 finale of Big Little Lies bumps the drama to No. 5, the farewell season of USA’s Suits (No. 8) maintains top 10 placement, and Adult Swim series, Rick and Morty (No. 9), receives a boost following the Season 4 news at this year’s Comic-Con.
With major series finales from Jane the Virgin and iZombie on the docket, plus, the Netflix release of Dear White People Season 3, and the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral on Hulu -- what will make next week’s top 10? All will be revealed next Monday!
DID YOU KNOW? Not only is Rick and Morty the No. 1 most-tracked Adult Swim series, it also makes TV Time’s top 20 most-tracked animated series list-- coming in at No. 18! (FOX favorite, The Simpsons, holds the No. 1 slot.)
