TayCampos cara, vc está enganada de duas maneiras. Uma, não existe racismo reverso, pq racismo não é um vetor, ou seja ele não é unidirecional. Qualquer raça que ofenda outra é racismo. E dois, tanto no filme( q é mais explícito) quanto na série, é mostrado o seu chamado "racismo inverso" em diversos momentos, como também hipocrisia, ignorância, etc. E isso q faz o filme é série serem tão bem feitos. Acho que as pessoas confundem o que é racismo, com racismo sistêmico enfrentado por afro descendentes. Racismo existe com qualquer raça, está na na definição da palavra. Acabou. My best friend is black and he tells me so often that the only people oppressing black people are black people themselves. They're holding themselves back, throwing pity parties at every occasion, try to live a culture that is viewed socially unacceptable and demeaning in general, and the general amount of racism is probably largest in the black community. Black on black, and black on white. You create your own priviliges. Telling everyone around you that you are below white people is why you oppress yourself. I have personally never met a caucasian person who hated black people for their skin colour. The amount of black people I know who hate white people is immense though.

Fwiw, Queen Sugar resonated much more greatly for me in portraying struggles of blacks in America, as having to face adversities because of racial identity and surrounding cultural context, but also just being regular people - without ofc any tinge of implications of being subhuman, but also without expectations for them to behave in a superhuman way. Though maybe the issues dealt with​ in QS got quite specific/niche at times, where DWP is more accessible/relatable to audiences? Idk. It could just be because DWP is working with teen struggles, and (saying this as a teen myself) for all that's worth, they end up pretty small scale. With QS, because the main cast consists of adults' storylines, they have their lives and selves sorted out a bit more and so the whole thing has more sense of purpose. These are people who have serious responsibilities and they're shown working through tears and sweat to keep their world from falling off their shoulders and into chaos. And that's what sparks universal recognition of a common humanity more than anything else: the acceptance of responsibility for one's own life and its surroundings. The most profound form of respect I can feel is for anyone is an individual, who tries to make the world around them better, tries consistently--and when they inevitably mess up, who reflects, wisens up and tries to do even better. And that's not really the emotional range of a YA show like DWP...
