c'est tour à fait cela. Le début pourrait décourager mais on m'avait dit de persévérer et je n'ai pas regretté. Les persos sont très attachants et j'ai hâte de voir la suite.

Personnelement, à aucun moment j'ai trouvé ça lent. Chaque moment était incroyable, effleurant la perfection. C'est une série magnifique que tout le monde devrait regarder et apprécier. Si seulement il y en avait plus...

La saison 2 sort le 8 août normalement, il va falloir attendre un ou deux jours pour avoir la VOSTFR, donc le 9 ou 10 août 2016 ! ✌😁

C'est l'une des meilleurs séries qui existe; des personnages attachants des risques et des vies différentes, il doivent ce confronté à la société, une série qui sort completement du lot cela fait du bien de voir que tout le monde ne vie pas la même chose. When you watch further it all makes sense why the are speaking English. Mostly cause it's an American target audience. So for our ears it's English but when they interact with each other you'll notice they do speak their own language.

I think that is hard for actors/actresses talk other language for so long for example Korean. In my country we have words that is difficult for other countries to pronounce and some words don't exist in other languages. So I think that isn't for the audience but for the people who play the characters and for the writers :-)

the actors who play Wolfgang, Sun and Lito are respectively German, Korean and Spanish I think it wouldn't be a problem for them to speak in their mother language. and the fact then when they speak English only for the spectators they have an accent doesn't make any sense because as they explain later in the season that english is "translated" for our sake.

In american comics, they obviously write everything in english, but they use "" to encapsulate texts "spoken" by foreign characters. So when a foreign character speaks english, even in a tv series, it is implied that the character is in fact speaking his home language. Otherwise, the series would need a lot of subtitles and the american public is adverse to subtitles. So that's why everybody speaks english even in their own countries in this series. Besides, it is much easier and cheaper to produce a series with only one spoken language.

Totally makes sense, but if every character talked in its presumably native language, watching the show will be more likely as reading a book. Overall, the show is magnificent and i cant wait for the next season.

Well it's not necessarily all in English. It's in the language the viewer most understands - having the choice for audio and subtitles to be in Spanish, French, German, and more. The way I interpret it, the people are speaking their own languages amongst themselves and to others, but we just hear them in the language we understand, but when they speak to another sensate, you hear them speaking their native language and coming to understand each other.

yes i agree with you, this series would be much better with the original language of caracters's countries. But a lot of english speakers dont look their movies and series with subtitles and dont like it (because they are not used to do it). For some people read is a fucking effort.

It's not terrible to read subtitles!! so it would be great if every character spoke their own language.

I think it's to show that sensates understand each other no matter their language (we see in the show that they appear to be speaking a langauge they never learnt when they meet). And i think it's in english to us, because that's the language the main audience of the show is supposed to speak.

Because american people tend to dislike shows ehwn they're not in English because they don't like reading the subtitles. Think about Narcos. They didn't like it because it was in spanish. The show had to be sold to the USA. That's why everything is in English.

They speak english just because the show is from US. But if you notice, the first conversation between two of them they speak one sentence in their own language at the beginning. There's an episode that explain this idea, when Capheus talks with Sun and they question how they could understand each other. So, english represents the language that all of them understand in common. But we'll only know if that's the real idea when a characters that isn't a sensate talks with some sensate in person. (sorry about my english, I'm from Brazil haha)

It's not about not wanting to read, or being too lazy to read. I read books every day. But that's the point: I read books, I watch TV. I don't mind reading subtitles here and there, but when an entire show or movie is subtitled, I don't like it at all, because I can't keep up. I can't walk and chew gum at the same time, as the saying goes. I can't simultaneously watch all the video and read all the dialogue. It's from a loss of cognition due to chronic illness, so this is MY reason for not watching subtitled shows/movies, but this goes to show that not everyone that dislikes subtitles because of laziness. Furthermore, Europeans live in close proximity to many other spoken languages, whereas we don't in the U.S., so it makes sense that they'll be more likely to learn multiple languages than we are.

i understand why they all speak english, it would be really hard for any spectator to follow all of the scenes with different languages, and reading subs is tiring after a while. it would be too messy. actually, i also really like the fact that they speak using their country's accents. accents are usually used to mock non-english speaking people in american/english tv shows, and it's nice to finally see a good portray of what foreign people sound like when speaking english. i like that the actors don't have to pretend to be mothertongues, i like that i can immediately recognize when wolfgang or kala or lito or sun are speaking because of their accents. and i like that the accent is part of their characterization and their culture, and that is not used to mock as it usually is (try learning another language, english mother tongues, than see if you are still down to make fun of the ones

I agree with you ! This is my one of my fav tv shows but it is supposed to be a very open minded show, which describe the life of very different people who are gathered in a "sensitive team" so they now share everything (talks, feelings, adventures...). But I would have preferred them to talk in their home language when they are in their country, with their family and to speak in English when they 8 meet ! It could have highlighted the fact that this sensitive thing make them feel like a real family apart from theirs in their own country. Anyways, I love this show !! ( I'm sorry if you don't understand what I truly mean; I'm French 🙃)

Omega9999 I understand that but I still think it makes no sense that they have an accent if the English is only for the spectator's ears. It's made for a lazy audience but, as most of the comments on my post have made clear, the majority is lazy and does want to read/accept diversity. They could have done like they did on heroes with the Japanese and the subtitles or in Vikings where they start speaking old English or French or whatever and after a few sentences switch to English. I personally would have preferred it this way, but I enjoyed the series nonetheless.

And it's not our fault that we don't really have the chance to learn and speak another language. It's our education system. Also places like America is large, unless you are on the boarder of Mexico, we are not near another country that speaks another language. Whereas somewhere like Europe is filled with different countries side by side, where learning another language is just part of their every day life.

bubbasvn I've never said it was dubbed, I still think I would have preferred if they did something more like Vikings. In Italy, where I'm from, learning another language is absolutely not part of everyday life, most people finish high school only knowing Italian, English has become more known thanks to the internet AND American shows that we watch subbed. That's how I learned it and as you can see, it worked pretty well. Sense8 isn't properly an American show, at least not as shows on American networks are. It's made for Netflix (that is available in 190 countries) with international actors and an international crew. The only proper American part of the show are the creators. I think it would broaden people horizons to hear different languages, but maybe it's just me.

But for the directors to control the feelings of 7 different languages, would be too difficult. They are already spending so much time filming those beautiful scenes as they jump from place to place

It's difficult to feel the full extent of emotions and fully understand the dialogue that you want your characters in, if there are lots of different languages. Probably easier for the directors. Also, they would have to hire whatever number of translators for each episode to translate screen writing, for the subtitles, each time they want to change a scene(making it longer, shorter, changing emotions, etc.) Just easier for an American writer and directors to keep everything in a language they understand and also so they don't need to go over their budget by spending extra money on script writers, subtitle writers, translators, etc.

I totally agree with you. This is the kind of artistic license I hate in films/TV shows. They should have done what they did in Lost and Heroes. Not only it would be much more realistic and true to the diversity the show preaches, but it also would be much more interesting when all the characters start interacting with one another because mutual intelligibility would actually be a surprise (not given for granted as it is right now). I will never understand people who prefer to hear a language that doesn't fit the character/country instead of making the minimal effort required to read subtitles and enjoying the beautiful sounds of other languages. Other than this, the series is very good so far.

This is just like how all alien species on Star Trek speak English, albeit through a plot device (Universal Translator). As others have mentioned, having different languages will only complicate story telling and turn off viewers from immersing themselves into the show when they are reading subtitles instead.

I believe the producers intend us to assume the characters are speaking their own languages. They are just trying to avoid distracting subtitles and a mess (with respect) of languages in group scenes. Also, to allow the actors to truly bond and vibe off eachother as well as they do, they have to understand eachother pretty well. There cannot be many actors that speak 7 languages. Even if you've rehearsed the other actors' lines in your own language a hundred times, you wouldn't be as emotionally invested in response in the scene as you would if you could understand what they are saying. I think the common language is a necessity for the show's success and many more people would be complaining if they'd tried to do it the other way.

Di trama non ha niente. Tanta, troppa, tutta fuffa senza capo ne coda. Filosofia fricchettona e fatta male. Mi spiace ma le serie belle sono altre.

Paolo, la trama è stata solo scalfita, com'è giusto che sia con una prima stagione, la filosofia fricchettona non capisco proprio dove la vedi, se intendi il fatto che una delle protagoniste si droga, c'è un motivo se lo fa ed è più che valido.

Un po' di onestà. Nella prime 8 puntate non succede nulla. Ma nulla proprio. L'idea è fighissima, ma aspetto 8 se non 10 puntate per vedere quello che mi aspettavo dalla prima! Poi le ultime sono meravigliose, scene troppo ma veramente TROPPO esplicite a parte e soprattutto non erano necessarie.

Condivido in pieno il tuo pensiero. Non mi è mai capitato di immedesimarmi così tanto in una serie, di provare una così forte empatia. Ho amato tutti i personaggi e trovo che gli autori siano stati in grado di rappresentare la vita umana per quello che realmente è: piena di alti e bassi, di gente diversa dagli altri sotto qualsiasi punto di vista ma che non va giudicata, anzi ci viene mostrata nelle nostre stesse fragilità, piene del desiderio di non sentirsi soli, di avere qualcuno che nei momenti difficili ci getti un ancora di salvataggio. Una delle più belle serie di sempre.

A me nn è piaciuta. Anche io l'ho trovata piena di fuffa, con storyline nn partucolarmente interessanti e altre addirittura noiose tirate per le lunghe. Le serie ben scritte sono altre, questa ha avuto alcuni bei momenti ma io mi sono annoiato per quasi tutto il tempo. Spero che la s2 sia meglio, che lascino perdere le loro beghe personali e ci si concentri di più sulla trama orizzontale.

Antolt la differenza è che the leftovers è fatta apposta per non essere capita (dato che tratta di un argomento religioso), soprattutto nella prima stagione, perché la seconda in cui si comincia a delineare una certa filosofia è un capolavoro. Temo che sense8 non venga apprezzata per motivi diversi, perché in fondo non c'è nulla da "capire"...

Antolt nono la mia non era una critica, anche perché sense8 non l'ho ancora finita quindi mi astengo da un giudizio complessivo, però sicuramente rispetto ad altre serie mi sono resa conto che il messaggio è più immediato, in questo senso dicevo che non c'è "nulla da capire"! Puntualizzavo il fatto che rispetto a the leftovers (o ad altre serie tipo preacher) in cui il senso del telefilm è volutamente celato fino ad un certo punto, non possa essere paragonata perché sono davvero due generi differenti. Visto 5 puntate e mi sono annoiato in una maniera pazzesca... Una serie tv che non mi sta trasmettendo nulla oltre delle vite di altre persone di cui non mi può fregare meno di niente... arrivato alla quinta puntata speravo di trovare qualcosa di più, ma ancora nulla. Proverò a continuare a vederla quando avrò finito altre serietv ma urlare al capolavoro qui si è molto distanti sia per quanto riguarda la sceneggiatura sia per quanto riguarda la trama secondo me arricchita di tante ma proprio tante cose inutili... potrei sbagliarmi, ma questo è il mio giudizio fino alla quinta puntata

Ho adorato la prima e sono letteralmente andata fuori di testa con la seconda!

Ce sont exatement les termes que j'ai employé la premiere fois qu'on m'a demandé mon avis sur cette série : une ode à l'humanité ! Cette série met en avant les instincs et sentiments humains, des plus basiques aux plus subtiles, tout en restant divertissante. Un sans faute !

Exatamente o que senti sobre a série. Apesar de haver uma trama de ficção, outros temas são abordados a fundo, porém com naturalidade e sem que se perca o foco central. Não vejo a hora de ver mais!!!
