The series is based on a Kuwaiti novel with the same name, telling the story of a young Kuwaiti who falls in love with a Filipino maid working at their house and marries her secretly. They have a boy named Isa, but his family forces him to leave her and his son. So Isa grows up with his mother in the Philippines. He feels confused about his religion and sense of belonging, and is eager to go back to Kuwait.
